All About The Contest

Introduction
The Fliton Challenge is an indoor IMAC/Pattern competition where you, our members, have the opportunity to showcase your flying skills, and win the opportunity to compete against the best pilots in the world!

Contestants will have three sequences to choose from based on your ability and skill. Practice it, video tape it, and send it in. At the end of the contest, videos will be presented to our judges for scoring. The judges will be made up from members of our IMAC HQ Staff and other notable names in the hobby. Judging will be "In The Blind". We will give you more specific details on this a little later..

Who is Allowed to Enter
Any member of FlyingGiants.com can enter the contest. That means ANY member including ETOC competitors of the past, sponsored pilots. If you're planning on sandbagging (entering in a lower class), we'll call ya out and bump you up. Contestants must accurate profile information, with real names. If you are under 18 years of age, make sure you have permission from your parents. You cannot enter the contest without parental concent. International contestants are welcomed to this contest.

What Can Fly?
-This is an indoor contest that must, obviously, be flown indoor. Arenas, convention halls, basketball courts, etc are all great venues. Any indoor foamy is eligible. SFG's, VPP... All legal. If you got it. Use it.

Prior E-TOC Competitor or Invitee?
If you have flown in, or have been invited to The ETOC in years past, please join in on the action! If you happen to win however, the ETOC invite prize will be passed to the runner up in your class. To be very clear: If you have ever flown in the ETOC, or have been invited to any prior year's ETOC, you are not eligible to win the ETOC invite.

Filming Your Sequence
No editing of the flight what so ever! If our crack team of techies sees a suspicious bump, you're junk!! Obviously you can vid several sequences and send your best, but DON'T TAKE A CHANCE!! We will catch an edit. This needs to be one continuous flight.

As with IMAC, it's the pilot's responsibility to have a camera man present the flight so the judges can CLEARLY see the entire flight. The judges can only score what they can CLEARLY see. A great example of filming flight can be found here (Thanks Matchless!)

When filming we need two things. The ability to see each maneuver and a clear point of reference. That could be bleachers, the floor etc. The judges need to see each maneuver and have a clear reference for scoring. Zooming in too close can hurt scores. We have to see the plane and clearly see it's position.

To clarify snaps. We fully understand a foamie does not snap like a 40%. We are looking more at the tail of the plane for movement. Remember! We can run it back and forth a thousand times in slow motion to see inputs, so please don't try the old aileron only trick!

Everything Else
International contest winners will be required to pay all shipping costs, and prizes MUST be delivered to the address of the contestant. Winners agree not to sell their prizes on any public internet website. Contest rules are still under development, and we reserve the right to change, and/or modify them at any time. More updates will follow. More details will be on the way but we wanted to get this to you guys as soon as we could so you can start practicing.
