Re: Classic 60s, 70s, 80s RC Birds?
Ok lets see how far back I can go. My father was flying before me and I remember some of his stuff. He tarined on a Debolt Jenny. The first airplane of his that I actually remember was an Andrews Trainer Master with a Merco .60 twin plug. My first trainer was a Sterling Fledgling powered by an Enya .35. Back then there were no mufflers, just a butterfly valve that would cover most of the exahust port at low power settings but open at full throttle via mechanical linkage off the carb. The pinnicle at that time was my dad's Midwest mach 1 powered by a ST blue head .60 with a Kraft 5 channel and Kraft retracts. My first solo was with a Bridi Trainer 20 powered with an HB 25.
