| I assume kris these are once again aerobatic planes. I can't wait to see all those b17's and cessnas with cans on the G38's. Every one who fly's any aircraft that is giant scale can't fly if you don't have cans. There are 100's of aircraft that cans will not fit in. Ok lets go buy a can for my 26cc J3 Cub!!!!!. I DON'T THINK SO. How about that 26cc Tylor craft, PT19, Cessna, Piper, Beach Craft, Stearman, Great Planes Pitts, Robin Hood, P51 Mustang, The list is endless. Lets Just call it the YAK, EXTRA, AND EDGE NALL. You can not tell me all these aircraft can use cans. There are 100's of piolets who have enjoyed Joe Nall that can not fly if this is the rule. Cans are designed for 3D aircraft. | |

Uh.. .no. . its not an aerobatic plane. It's a hyper-manuverability prototype. Calling it a Fun Fly is actually an insult to its capability.
If the warbird and Scale guys wanted to. . they COULD put quiet exhaust systems in their planes. In a radial cowled setup its just stupidly easy to install a canister, and there is nothing sweeter, or quieter, than a TRUE radial gasser in a radial cowl. On a P-51 a dedicated modeler could find places to put things like a properly bent header setup and large muffler elsewhere in the fuselage. . such as routing the header behind the engine to a large pipe that dumps out the back of the fuselage, or even (God forbid) has a front exhaust stinger that is routed out the Scale exhaust outlets. And all those large scale planes with Boxer engines in the cowl could easily run a Y pipe header from the opposed cylinders into an oversized muffler behind the engine.
Then, there's always the "Electric" option. Given the lack of need for torque rollng and 3D with a Warbird or scale job, it would be ultra simple to simply go electric! The setups already exist, with enough power to TR a 30 lbs plane. It would be a simple bolt in for most Warbirds and Scale planes that already exist, and would be UBER cool.
So. . please . .there really are no excuses. Unless you just don't want to fly, that is.
