| My experience was much the same as you described. I tried a DX7 on one of my camera planes equipped with 2.4ghz video system. The ground range was reduced as the video transmitter was sitting on top of (touching) the main receiver. Even though range was reduced, it appeard that it would probably have been usable. Moving the video transmitter about 18 inches from the Spektrum receivers resolved the range problem. However, on the other end, the 2.4ghz video receiver was totally wiped out by the DX7 transmitter making the system useless.

I would be willing to bet that if you modded and used one of the FCC Type accepted color suveillence cameras, that theey would live happy together. As they would use the same GUID and freq sharing system mandated for type acceptance.
Worth a trip to the camera isle next time I am at a big box retailer.
