Re: Jim LeRoy Bulldog II Photos!
Elie,
Bulldog II is based on the Pitts S2S airframe not a model 12 frame. It is a good bit smaller and weighs 200lb less than the python. Jim is still learning what it can do and it clearly has great advances in capabilty and strength over bulldog I. Yes, all the control surfaces are oversize and have balances on them. The rudder is light but not too light. Elevators are a good bit larger than stock while the stabs are a lot smaller. The ailerons are huge and nearly full span. It rolls as fast as an Extra or sukhoi. Really fast.
The paint scheme was designed by Mirco Pecorari of Aircraft Studio Design in Italy. Mirco created the Python scheme as well as schemes for Bulldog II, The Pitts Viper (soon to roll outof our shop), Gary Ward's new MX2, 2 Nemesis NXT's, many European aircraft, Ferrari race cars, AND he is the guy who created the Gee Bee R3 drawings that have been used by 2 companies to make RC models of the R3. Mirco is a good friend of ours and really loves airplanes. Bulldog II has 2.5 gallons of $2500 per gallon yellow paint on it. It was fun to paint.
