Re: Funtana and saito See that’s probably a setup problem. I could hold a hover at a tad above half throttle, I had no throttle curve and the arm on the carb was half way through the travel when I was hovering. It all depends upon the needles on the engine and the prop. I was using a 16X4 and no spinner. I think that my high speed needle was only turned out 1.5 turns too. If I turned it out to 2 turns the airplane would fall like a wounded duck from a hover because the engine was not getting enough power. With a saito 100 on the ground you should be getting 9600 rpm easily with 30% and a 16X4 apc. With a 125 I imagine you should get a couple hundred more. A slight change in the high speed needle setting can have a great effect on engine power in flight..... that and using suck props. |
