| hey i am in the same boat as you are. accept maybe a few years ahead. i already have my private and am working towards my instrument rating. i am 17 and a senior in highschool. in my opinion i would go ahead and get your private and start building some hours. onnce you get some time under your belt you will know if you truly want to fly for a living. i do. also i have talked to many different pilots and i have concluded ( my opinion ) that it does not mattter what college you go to or what degree you get while you go there. just so long as you get a degree. personally if im going to get a buisness degree so that just in case i cant pass my next medical i realise that i dont want to fly anymore i will have something to fall backl onto. | |

That is a great answer. Be prepared with a plan B. You are always one medical exam from being unemployed.
