For the past 12 months, I have been working with Kern County and the Bureau of Reclamation to lease some land for a flying site on the the south side of Lake Woolomes(3 miles S/E of Delano, CA.). Lake Woolomes is a county maintained park with picnic areas, fishing and boating(non-powered).
I have re-chartered the Delano AMA club for the club insurance and club/flying site infastructure from the AMA that this project will need.
There is a 12 acre "finger" on the south side that would make a great flying field. We have had 3 meetings at the location with the B of Recl. and they seem very optimistic!

A state biologist has already "signed off" and stated "no adverse impact" to any ecosystem, plants or animals.
The B of Recl. has asked me to provide:
1. Scope of work
2. Drawing of the planed project area with dimension
3 Intended usage, ( days per week , per moth, special events, Hours of
operation, )
4. Location map with total Acers of the area effected
Now comes the hard part .... there were 3 of us who started this project but i'm the only one still flying. I need HELP!!!
Any individuals(flying giants especially)or any clubs interested in this project can email me at
britchey@bak.rr.com .
I think this site has great potential(contest, camping, float planes, fishing etc) !!
Thanks!
