The fuel dot comes with a cover and the Tygon tubing plugs into the back of it. You remove the cover and plug your fill tube adapter into the unit. Yes you use the same line to fuel and de-fuel.
BTW: The fuel dot installs into the side of the plane and I believe comes with a fitting you install on your tube coming from your can.
