Default Re: Checkride!

I just got mine last month. just try not to think about it to much before the oral and flight, that is what gets you nervous. Do all your studying and remember all the PTS standards and go in with a positive attitude and have fun thats all you need to do. Its no different than flying with your instructor, all the maneuvers are the same and they dont fling you trick questions. Just watch out for little things though. My examiner undid a screw on the cowling while I was preflighting the tail section, and they like to not put their seat belts on until you tell them to, and keep the window open unless you brief them to close it before takeoff.
Also, if you happen to screw up a maneuver or your just not happy with the way it went, just ask them for another try. 9 times out of 10 they wont have a problem with it, unless you start doing EVERYTHING twice. Another thing, if you do happen to blow PTS (which you shouldn't anyways) dont give up, correct for what you did. If your examiner sees you 125 below your assigned altitude on a steep turn dont just keep it there, correct for it immediately, they like to see that and will pass you on the maneuver even though you were out of PTS for a second.

Good luck man, just stay calm and know your stuff...passing is the best feeling in the world
