Default Rockin' at Nall

Matt and I arrived at Nall Thursday at about 6:00pm. Just in time for hot dogs and the AMA meeting. Afterwards, Matt found out there was going to be a jam session in the hangar, so he ran (not walked!) to the van to get his guitar and amp. Glad I told him to pack those, "just in case".

Chris Hinson is absolutely AWESOME on the guitar, Peter Goldsmith rocked on the bass, Blair "BR289" was incredible on the drums, even though he said he has not played much recently, and George Hicks took turns on the drums as well. Another guy (sorry, did not catch his name, maybe someone else knows?) also played guitar.

Matt has been playing the guitar for just a little over a year, and I wasn't sure how well he would do with the others, but he made his dad proud! When Chris took a break, he let Matt play his guitar. Matt played lead on Eric Clapton's "Cocaine" and also AC/DCs "Shook me all night long", during which someone from the audience stepped up to the microphone and supplied great vocals.

At some point during the jam session, I noticed that most of the others in the group were JR flyers, so I promptly gave Matt his Futaba hat to wear.

I really appreciated the others letting Matt play. We had a great time -- one of the higlights for us at this years Joe Nall.
