Default Re: Going to Wichita Falls.

Well thread may actually go along with the story file.
Well after a long drive in the morning to Wichita Falls we arrived at the main public field. As we arrive we see a few tents and pylons. As it turns out we make the trip almost for nothing. We talk with the people to get the scoop. It turns out they are preparing for nationals. The good news is that they have a private field that they were kind enough to let us use.
We all pretty much had our problems. I broke a prop on landing. The spitfire had to be handlaunched and flew well. Landing was interesting. It ran out of fuel and with the gear dangling Joe went to land. It fell short and sort of cartwheeled and landed perfectly on the landing gear in the locked position. And every one flew the spad. All in all it was worth the drive.
