Re: New to Gassers - Want to build around a DA-50 I fly 50cc, I had the AW Yak 54, it flew very well but built a bit heavier than some other models, I have also owned a poweline models yak (league models in china), it also flew well but weighed in the same as the AW (DA 50R, Hitec 5955's all around, three TB 2600 Li-Ion's, three MPI miracle swithces, Dubro 24 oz fuel tank, stock gear, both came in right at 18 lbs dry). My next plane will be the SD Models Yak 54, they can come in around 16.5 to 17 dry with a smoker system. They fly great, 3D like mad and are a bit cheaper than most of the crowd (all the new versions are "high performance", basically like the QB of the Aeroworks, no hinging, no canopy installation, and comes with CF wingtube. Best 50cc for the money IMO.
