| I live in Victoria, BC Canada and have grown real tired of rainy winters. I have this idea that I should visit NZ with my wife next year and enjoy a New Zealand summer.

Brian , if you have a look at the weather in NZ ist not all that flash and man do they have some WIND . There is a good reason why there pilots are very good because they will fly in anything , they dont have much choice .
If you were to stay in that plane for a couple more hours the south coast of New South Wales (South of Sydney) is about as good as life can get . Very stable weather , low wind , nice and warm and lots of places to fly .
New Zealand and summer are not two words you here in the same sentence to often .
