I've had the same experience. When I was flying in CO, it was what I would consider perfect power. Not too much and certainly not too little. However, being back at 500 ft. above sea level instead of 5000 ft. and running 30% helicopter fuel, I think I have too much power. I'm sure someone will disagree with me that there is such a thing, but I think you can.
