| Hello everyone. I'm Gordon Wilhelm and I have been involved with IMAC style flying for the last couple of years. I attended my first event in Kelowna last summer and I'm hooked! After some discussions with Chris Hammond who hosted his first event in Edmonton last fall I have decided that it is high time to get Calgary on the IMAC map. ANNOUNCING: Calgary Scale Aerobatic Roundup July 5 & 6th at the CRAMS field in Calgary, Alberta (for field location see www.crams.ca )
This will be an introductary event with the emphasis on having fun and helping all interested pilots learn what IMAC is all about as well as having some friendly competition (we're not going to let Edmonton have all the fun!). We plan on running Basic, Sportsman and Intermediate classes over a two day period with trophies for first to third place in each class. This event is happening on the first weekend of the Calgary Stampede so its a great opportunity to come up with the family, fly for a couple of days and then party at the world famous Calgary Stampede! I know that this is happening at the same time as the US Nats but I'll bet that not everybody is going.
There is a rough (also my first attempt!) website up at www.calgaryimac.ca which has more information. Please contact me by phone or e-mail gvwilhelm@hotmail.com if you have questions or want to pre-register (please pre-register to help me with the planning!! ) Accordng to Bruce this event will be showing up on the NW schedule shortly and we plan on running it according to the normal IMAC and NW region rules and procedures. We will probably be relaxed about noise testing but we can test your plane to see how you stack up against the strict letter of the law.
It would be great to have some of our friends from the US come up and help us kick off what I hope will become a great annual event!
Cheers! | |
