| Independent Thinkers Guild | Re: Pros & Cons-Composite frame vs. wood airframe | | | | | | | If you're looking at 50cc aircraft and considering composite aiframes... don't overlook http://www.bvmprops.com They have some nice schemes (built by Extreme Composites). Bob Violet is great to work with, and he's been in the business since it started.
In a 50cc size, there is about a $400 difference between wood and composite pricing. I think I could iron a LOT of ultacote for that kind of money!
Don't be fooled by Compy's low pricing on the 2x2 planes... there's a TON of work to do finishing them! You have to mount the motor dome (insane), and you have to cut ALL of the servo holes in the wing and fuse. I guess for $400... you get what you pay for.
Good luck! | | | | | Bob & I both want to say "Thanks reyn3545 !" for the head's up.
I'll give it a hard going over and call him! Look pretty good right off the bat. Humm, Wonder if I can do a " pick up" since we are in the same area code!?? |
