Seems like some sort of thermal shielding is in order. Maybe as simple as making sure that the RX is not exposed to direct sunlight. Novel idea, bury it in foam!! Still amazes me how many times I see RXs strapped to the fuse directly with "maybe" one sliver of highly compressed foam between it and the hard place.

But getting it out of direct sunlight can't hurt it.
