I am still mystified on why beating 5 people gets you more points than beating 3. The quality of flying required to win has nothing to do with the number of people in a contest.

Example. Take a contest with 4 pilots. First to 4th are separated by say 50 normalized points.

Now take another contest with say 10 guys in the class. But this time first to 4th are separated by 150 normalized points. But the pilot at the large contest gets more points than the pilot at the smaller contest.

What this system really does is prejudice the points system against pilots who do not have ,or cannot travel to, large contests.

What it really says is that everyone has an equal chance of winning a contest and the more pilots you beat the better you flew. That is simply not true. It depends on WHO you beat, not how MANY you beat.
