Default Re: World Model 1/5 Scale J3 Cub?

Root,
I haven't finished this plane as of yet. It seems that it keeps getting pushed to the back burner for one reason or another. LOL.
The Saito 82 should be a good choice for this plane. If I remember correctly, it is within the recommended range. I've got the Hangar 9 80" Pawnee with a Saito 82 that's in the 8 to 9lb. range and it flies very nice with this engine. I've also seen the Hanger 9 80" Cub with the 82, and it seems to be a good match as well. ( both of tese planes are listed as 40 size.)The World Models 1/5 Cub that I have has an 84" wing, so I'd think that it or the clipped wing version would do well also.
I chose the Saito 100 for mine because I have one on hand and I plan on towing banners with it. I figured that the extra power would come in handy. However, with my set-up, I'm going to have to notch the firewall in order to use an inverted pitts style muffler. The 82 would probably be a better fit.
With the holiday weekend and the lousey weather forecast, I' probably have all of the excuses that I need to get back to finishing this plane. I'll agree that there is very little info about the WM 1/5 Cub to be found, so I'll try to keep this thread going with my findings and progress. Please let me know what you decide on yours.

Cheers! BH
BTW, A freind of mine has the WM 1/4 clipped wing in the blue and white. He's not started building his yet, though.
