Hey guys, if seeing some of the best R/C pilots in the world compete in the most prestigious contest in the world wasn't enough of a reason to get off the couch and take a trip to the 2008 Tucson Aerobatic shootout, let me throw this one at you.
I received a call this afternoon form our good buddy Frank Noll to let us know that the one, the only, Mr. Matt Chapman has been confirmed to perform on Saturday and Sunday afternoon in his CAP 580 at the 2008 Shootout!!
(With the possibility of a Friday practice/warm up session!)
Matt's show is being generously sponsored by Great Planes and Desert Aircraft.
Matt is confirmed, the paper work has been sent in, and barring any FAA last minute issues (always a possibility at any airshow) Matt will be tearing up the skies of Tucson!
If for some reason you have been living under a rock, and haven't seen Matt perform, here is a great opportunity to see him in a really BEAUTIFUL setting.
I enjoy watching full scale aerobatics in the presence of R/C aerobatics. It really demonstrates the similarities between what we fly and what Matt throws around the sky! I hope they have the on board microphone for Matt, that adds a whole additional layer to the coolness of his performances.
I will have my still camera and video camera charged and ready, the booking of Matt Chapman just took a great event that is already at a world class level, and TURNED IT UP TO ELEVEN!!
I can't wait! See you all there!
Please check out Matt's website for tons of information about Matt and his Embry-Riddle Eagle 580.
