Don is correct.

The variable voltage is only for the servo outlet pins. The receiver has a fixed voltage supply of 5 volts. That supply is also current limited in so much as you should not be running a lot of servos directly off the Rx. technically there is no need to run any servos off the Rx directly. A choke servo or a throttle servo is as much as its really designed to handle.
