hi guys,

i am new into the heli world after flying planks for about 25 years.

i bit the bullet and bought a venture 50 arf (good and cheap) and put in a os hyper 50 , 401 gyro and some futaba 9252 servo's. i was laughed at on other forums for buying a venture 50 (its not a raptor) but i think it has been a really good heli to learn how to fly with. the big selling point was the price!! $279 usd. it didnt come with blades so i bought some woodies and carbons. i flew with the woodies for a while and switched to the carbons and man what a difference.

for some reason the dude in the shop gave me this battery pack with 4 sub c sized batteries. 3700 mah. the cofg is correct so he must have known what he was talking about.

this heli has been easy to put together and i test flew it myself. i will admit i flew the rfg3 for about a month but i was amazed at how easy the conversion to helis was. now i am going thru the throttle curve steup and trying to get them right.

all in all i never thought i would have this much fun but this whole new experience has been really cool. i am even looking into the next airframe,,,,maybe even a airskipper 50 or a raptor titan.

oh yeah,,if anyone has a plank 14mz it is real easy to make a smooth throttle. just pull the back of the radio off and bend the ratchet spring. all good.

backwards loops and rolls next

Glad to see that you are in the air and having fun.
That is the bottom line.

I don't know of any current manufacture 50 size heli that is "bad".
All brands of helies have their issues, strengths and weaknesses.
What is best for one person will be bad for someone else.

I can understand your feelings with not following the mainstream in heli choice. Being a Gohbee field rep means that I do fly Gohbee helies and I do get a lot of verbal abuse just because it is not one of the mainstream helies, but I have just as much fun with mine if not more fun than some of the others with there mainstream helies.
