I have just completed the subject build. Page 22 of the manual states the "CG" specs are 5 7/8 to 6 1/2 inches back from the leading edge of the main wing.

I cannot get close to this range. I have attempted to balance the bird , inverted as stated in the manual, using a Great Planes "CG" stand. I would have to add well over 5-ounces of lead way far back on the tail in order to come close to this "CG" range.

Has anyone else had this issue? How did you resolve it? What am I doing wrong?

You probably have too much motor on it (if there is such a thing)!

If you've got the batteries moved as far back as possible, then there's really no alternative but to hang some lead on the tail. You can always add more or remove it later. I had a few of the smaller Twists a few years ago... very fun planes to fly. Good Luck.

There' s not much to do on those planes that could get your CG that far off... other than a heavy motor. You are balancing it with an empty tank, right?

Yepper, empty fuel tank, for sure. The 40 sized Twist has the "CG" at 4-5 inches from the leading edge.

Something is desperately wrong. This bird is meant for a 60-sized engine (Evolution), with the prop washer set 5-inches from the firewall. I set it up exactly per the manual, yet I cannot get anywhere close to the "CG" called for in the manual.

I have never had to add weight to the tail of any aircraft I have built, let alone almost 0ne pound :201:

I have an email in to Horizon's product support team. I am hoping it is as easy as "oops", the manual should read 4 7/8 to 5 1/2 inches from the leading edge. I can balance this aircraft easily in that range.

I had a 40 size Twist with a Thunder Tiger 91 on it( way to much :197: ) and didnt have to add very much on the tail . Good Luck
