I dont know the full history of this plane but i was told it was built in the late 70's. it is a robbe OGAR motor glider. one of the guys in my club it in a trade deal, it hasnt flown but a few times in the past... and will no more.. the take off was ok it looked tail heavy at first but controled. once at altitude a few of us looking on noticed how much wing flex there was. soon we all heard the ear wrenching sound of balsa breaking.. foloowed by everyone sayingf Noo Noo, NOO.. OHHHHHHH noooo... the wing folded up at the base , whether is was old wood, weak spar metal( my guess see pics) it was sad to see.. heres the pics.
mike

ps, the guy in the red shirt found the engine there... thats a toss!

A shame the wing didn't rip right off so you could have been the first to HEMPLE in a glider.

Sorry for the loss.
