Hey all, decided to do e-toc again and I've been out of the foamy loop for 2 years now and was wondering the best servo/power setups, also is mark lessburg's plane kitted now? I really liked that plane and had a small hand in what I guess are now refered to as "snaggles" haha(votacy generators) anyway, Help! Thanks

I have several of the Razorbacks and they are awesome. I am using the AXI 2203-46/HackerA10-9l with a CC P10 esc 2 d47 servos on Rudder and elevator and a mod HS 55 on ailerons. Two of these have one D47 per aileron But is more weight costly. Go to insanefoamies.com to find the kit. Hope this helps!!!

Here's what I am using for this year's ETOC:

Hacker A10 15S
Hacker X-5 ESC
JR DS 188 on ailerons
Dymond D47 on elevator/rudder
Spektrum AR6300
Thunder Power 350mah 2 cell packs

I am most curious about the use of a single aileron servo, there was a really good futaba servo, but I forget what the number was...

maybe the 3114? I tried the JR 185 but they are to inconsistent and often sloppy...:199:

I turn the HS 55 into a 7 gram powerhouse. I may have to try the Futaba 6 gram version..if someone knows of a good one

Aileron servo... Futaba 3114 (analog) and 3154 (digital). Same general specs. 23 oz torque, .09 sec speed. Awesome servos! I

Good to have you back dude!

Hey Buddy, Glad to hear that you're going! Yes, Insane foamies has them. As far as servos, there are allot of good ones out there. For the ailerons, I would reccomend using one of the big Saiko servos. At 1800oz of torque, it should be able to do both ailerons. LOL :-) You might want to check out these HXT servos: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=663&Product_Name=HXT500_5g_/_.8kg_/_10sec_Micro_Servo
I'm using the 9g servos on my outdoor foamy, and they are wicked fast, and centering is dead on! The price is great too. For the tail surfaces, the 4.7g dymond servos would be my choice.
Just my 0.02.

Seth, have you tried the JR 188 yet?

I will have you know that I have 87 flights on that foamy, with only 1 small mishap which was a long time ago. I sold the Extra 260 after 65 flights, and NO crashes. I flew it that low over dirt too. :200:

Daniel...were you at Molalla contest last year? Red hair?...Are you gonna start making any contests this year?

danielph
02-20-2009, 01:12 AM
Yeah, I was at Molalla, and yes, I am hoping to fly freestyle this year. I don't know if Grant will give me an "invite" yet... We'll see. Did you see the video of my freestyle on the sim that is on my media page? If I can get in, I'll be flying that routine. What is your name? I might have seen you last year. ???

Thanks guys!

John, I'll give you a call tomorow night. :-)

My name is Ben I did meet you there you were with your brothers I think. If you want to fly freestyle in Molalla your best chance is to do well in IMAC. Most likely Intermediate. Sportsman class winners make it to the freestyle rarely, usually when the guys in the higher classes turn down the freestyle invitation. As far as getting an invite from Grant I wouldn't really count on that. He does that VERY rarely, usually when he doesn't have enough freestyle participants. With that contest being the most popular in the NW I doubt he will have that problem. Plus Grant doesn't really care about 3D hotshots he wants the freestyle pilots to be good at IMAC. I've had multiple discussions with him about that and he's very firm on it. Who knows though...???

I'm not trying to discourage you, I'm just telling you what I know so you won't be really dissapointed if it doesn't happen. And if you really really want to make it, so you know how the best way to go about it. You're a very good 3D pilot but it happened in the past where a local 3D hotshot didn't make it in the freestyle because there were too many people ahead of him in the higher IMAC classes (he was in Sportsman). So how's your IMAC looking :)

P.S. If this is not hijacking a thread I dont' know what is :D

Yes, I fly off of our property. It's really nice to be able to just walk a hundred and fifty feet from the house and fly!

I just ordered a 50cc Extreme Flight Extra 300 last week! If I got in, I'd fly that. We'll see...

Lets talk with PMs now... I feel bad about kinda' hijacking this thread. That was not my intent in putting that first video in... Sorry John.
