Lithium Lifespan

I know LiPos and LiIons are only supposed to last 2 years, but does anyone know if the A123 and similar chemistry (I.E. Fromeco Iron Corps) are only supposed to last 2 years even if you're under the typical number of charge/discharge cycles in the life of the battery?

If you read the litariture on the A123s they can take a lot more cycles than lions. I have had mine for only 2 seasons I will watch them but Im planing on keeping them for at least a couple more seasons. I havent heard of anyone wearing any out yet. That guy Dick Hanson I believe is his name is on those A123 threads would be the one to ask.

i HAVN'T EVER HEARD THAT LITHIUM BATTS ONLY LAST TWO YEARS. mINE HAVE LASTED TWICE THAT LONG AND ARE STILL LIKE NEW.WHY AM I WRITING IN ALL CAPS. Thats better. I think usage and charging methods and no. of cycles, and care dictates how long a battery will last. Not just time. Fromeco states clearly in the paperwork that comes with thier battery's that you can charge a lithium batt half full and let it sit unused for a year or more and the batt will not lose any power at all. I can attest to that being true too. I have used some that have sat for years with a half charge, checked them on a checkers thrown them in a plane without a fresh charge and they last all day. That in itself kicks ass if you ask me. I wont use any other brand for onboard RX's, Servo's etc. I dont see why you couldn't have one last for ten years or more if you took good care of it!!???!!!
