The 55cc has been scrapped in favor of a 58cc, BME redesigned the 55cc a bit more into a 58cc as he was not happy with the 55cc. So, it will probably be even longer before you see this engine come out, and if you need something now I would look elsewhere. I think BME said 2.4lbs for the 58cc when it does hit the streets.

Some of these engines (I can think of 2) remind me of Guns & Roses. Their new one has been supposed to be released for 3 or 4 years now.lol

BME told my bud the reason we are not already flying the 55 is that the 2 bearing placement in the 55 left the engine succeptably (SP ?) to crank problems with the addition of the 3rd bearing (3rd bearing is smaller because it doesn't have to handle the same load as the front 2 and is just to steady the crank) on the back side of the crank the new version will last a long time like his 50cc does. There will be an engine brought to market but i wont hold the breath and i will buy it when it comes out. I just wish it would get here fast fast fast .
