| Hey man, gonna eat that??? ![]() | Got my first taste of it this weekend. Aww crap this is hard!!! The walls just jump out at you! Got a "super flea" that was perfect, and a foam biplane that was real tough to do. The guys that were there made it look easy, flying the same planes, I could get from one end of the gym to the other and then the wall would reach out and grab my plane Guess I am not as good as I thought. Went through about a half a bottle of glue, and then just stuck with my heli and flea.Any one else fly in gyms?

| E-Flight Pimp ![]() | Yep, the first time I flew in a gym I had about 40 seconds total airtime by the end of the night. The walls just kept finding my model! But heres a couple of tips: Use the rudder! Its about more than just co-ordinating turns, the rudder becomes your PRIMARY directional control. You want the model to point somewhere you do it with the rudder. Learn to use it inverted as well! Use the throttle! In an indoor environment your models can sometimes fly alot slower than you expect that they can, simply because of the low turbulence. Use the vertical airspace. Immelmans, stall turns and split esses (all maneuvers which have a vertical element) can really help avoiding walls at either end of the gym. And finally, master the hover and torque roll. Use these when you get weary of avoiding walls, you should be able to fly a whole battery out just hovering. A hover takes up next to no space! |

| Bad-ass Super Contributer! ![]() | My suggestions: -Get your model as light as humanly possible. Trust me, I had a real problem with this on my first 9-10oz shock flyer! -Use only enough battery for a 5-7minute flight. -harriers -rearward CG and -expo (make sure its negative for Futaba!) |

| Burp........whut? ![]() | What plane were you flying? if it was about 10oz or more...thats a bit big for a gym IMHO.. if a shocky? I have mine at 5oz and it could go lighter....
