Default Any Transformers fans out there?

I must admit that I am as giddy as a school girl...why might you ask? Well, I was at the movie theaters a few months ago and I saw a teaser for the new Transformers movie. I was smiling from ear to ear. They just released a real theatrical trailer a few weeks ago and I finally saw it here: http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/transformers_hd.html If the movie even closely resembles the theatrial trailer, it's gonna be an amazing movie.

Naturally, being a RC nut, I am a huge transofmers fan. I can remember watching them on Saturday morning as a kid and loving every minute of it. Anyways, I just wanted to see what all of the 20 somethings (and maybe even the early 30 somethings) thought of the video link posted above! Let's hear it!

I used to love those things too Mike. I think I still have a couple in a box somewhere.

In a box I believe I have pretty much every first run transformer. I may be missing a couple but it would kind of be cool to go back and look at them.

I'm worried about the movie - I remember, the animated movie release. I thought it was good but it was very dark and seeing your favorite toys dying off...ouch.

Holy crap! I haven't bothered checking any of this transformer stuff out because I've been picturing it to be more cartoony. That trailer looks alot more war of the worlds/terminator then anything else.

I also saw a 34 minute video with 2 of the writers for the movie and they had a few interesting things to say about the movie. They did say which characters were going to be in the movie (pretty all much gen 1) and they have left the story line open for a sequel/sequels. They even consulted Hasbro about which characters they thought they should put in the movie and how they should portray those characters which shows that they really do care about how the movie is portrayed. They are trying to stay as true to the roots as possible which is cool.

Looks awesome, I'll definitely see it. Quite the departure from the cartoon movie with the hair band 80's soundtrack.
