| Bad-ass Super Contributer! ![]() | It is awesome watching the thrust vectored manuevers this and the Raptor can do. In a dogfight , do these manuevers have an advantage or are they just for a power a show?? I mean if it slows down to 3D like that....is it going ot get a siewinder or equiv slammed into it?? Just because it can do it, does it make it an operational or tactical sense??? |

| Outlaw Slayer! ![]() | I think in a traditional dogfight you are too close to use missiles and it is a case of who can get their nose guns pointed on who first. If that is the case then I would think thrust vectoring is definately an advantage?..

| Closet Jesus Freak ![]() | Awesome huckin'! FWIW, in real combat, it's all about the range of your radar. The F 15 for example, will see the enemy, lock radar, fire, and bolt out even before the enemy sees them on the radar. ... try to beat that . |

| DKjens ![]() | What amazes me when watching this airplane, is that when it's in a situation where none of its surfaces are developing lift and the tail isn't pointed to the ground, like in the flat spin at the beginning of the clip. it's not dropping out of the sky. These airplanes have a very high wing loading, but it still performs maneuvers as if in slow motion, as if it's very light; that's what blows my mind.

| Laughter helps! ![]() | Hey Guys: Take a look at the last few seconds of the video. It looks like the only 'thrust vectoring' the SU-30 could do would be via the 'turkey feathers'. My bet is the canards make the really outrageous maneuverability possible. Watch them during the really 'nonaerodynamic' maneuvers. I could be wrong, but it's just my opinion! Docvan |

| It will fly!!! | If you watch close at about 2:25 in the clip you can see the nozzles move.

| Laughter helps! ![]() | Wizard: Yep, saw it! When you're right, you're right. The nozzles are not like the Raptor's, but they do move. With the canards, and thrust vectoring; that thing can really do suprising stuff! Docvan Docvan |
