Default QQS Yak 54 102"

Hi Guys, i have a new ZDZ 80 RVJ was wondering if it would drag a the QQS 102" Yak around for 3D. Suppose to be not far behind the DA100 for power but 2lb lighter. Has any body tried it? What are they like to put together and fly. Saw Andrew Jeskey fly his but talent hides a lot of issues..........

Andy

I fitted the RV-J to the 102" yak and yes it had ample power for 3D flying, I only had a few flights before someone made me an offer I could not refuse.

I have another shipment on the way arriving any day now and I will be building another 102 with the 80RV-J for power

If you are interested in the QQ 102 yak give me a call, I am quite sure I can do you a good deal on the yak and a can to go with your engine

Below is a few shots of the 102" Yak with the ZDZ 80 RV-J flying

Is there a problem with it being tail heavy with an 80 being as how the plane designed for a 2 lb. heavier moter?

There should not be a problem with CG with the ZDZ. I balanced mine with a BME 115 without much of a problem. I just moved all of the batteries to the engine box. I believe the ZDZ is close on weight to the BME, minus one muffler. I ended up at 24lbs. 12oz. on a gen I 102" with the BME.

Yes the new batch will be generation 11

Danj

There was no balance problems with the ZDZ 80RV-J in the yak as can be seen from the pictures the model did not even require a spinner for correct balance, there was no added weight either.

I was using twin receivers on 2 cell 2100 lipo's (both battereis were on the engine box)

The 102 is well suited to the ZDZ 80RV-J

Hello,

is there a video out there from a QQ Yak 102 with an ZDZ 80 RV-j???

After i saw this thread i'm hesitating between the SD Model Yak 33% and this one, which is available here in europe.

Greetings,

David

Sorry there is no video I only had about 3 flights then I was made an offer I could not refuse on the model.

I can not stress strongly enough that this is an excelent combo with more than enough power and light.

I have a new batch of 102" Yaks in stock in the UK which are due in any day now
