| Will it hover?? ![]() | I think the best one to fly to is the club remix of AC/DC "You shook me all night long" Its mixed very well and has several different beats to. An awesome remix. The song is already mixed, you dont have to add anything and it is just about 4 minutes long. Perfect for a freestyle routine.

| Bad-ass Super Contributer! ![]() | I posted this before, but I'll re-post it because it's gotta be one of the greatest freestyle mixes ever: I got it!!! I'll be using this when I'm invited to the Tucson Shootout but feel free if you want to use it also. I call this the "FONDUE MIX". First you really want to get the crowd into it so you start out with the greatest Cuban Salsa song ever written. That's right.........you know I'm talkin' bout;.... Copa Cabana, by Barry Manilow....uh huh.... "Her name was Lo-la....she was a showgirl.....Oh man, I'm almost dancin' right now. Next, to show your playful side and really get the crowd tapping their toes and drinking your punch, you fade into the cleverly written; Muskrat Love, by that charming southern belle and her sailor man, the Captain and Tennille. Next, you need to slow things down a little. You'll want to show the people you're not just a rock-n-rollin' head banger, so you need to show your vulnerability and your sensitive side. This is the perfect time for; Making Love Out of Nothing at All, by Air Supply. Oh man, there's tears in my eyes right now! Finally, the Piece de Resistance, a song that will put you over the top with the judges and the crowd. This is where you bring it all together. You've got everyone eating out of the palm of your hand at this moment and you're not going to let them come up for air, right? That's when you hit em' with; Sky Rockets in Flight, (Afternoon Delight), by the Starland Vocal Band. WOW!!! Can you imagine the hysteria? Like I said, feel free to use this mix. Your flying, I can't help you with, but at least this mix will show the judges and the crowd that you're a man of discerning musical taste and you're not afraid to take chances. |

| Hey dad, You gonna fly that? ![]() |
Dan has a very good point. You should fly to the music that interest you, not the judges or the spectators! There is no way possible for you to feel the beat of the music and choreograph a free program if its to music you are unaware of and or dislike. The rules.... In a musical symphony, the listener’s mood may be changed by contrasting fast and slow movements. Similarly, in a 4-Minute Free Program, the judge should be treated to a flight that causes different reactions. While some maneuvers involve very high speeds, sudden attitude changes and rapid rotations, others involve slower speeds or more gentle transitions. Higher marks will be given to a pilot who finds time in his program for showing such differences of mood and pace. Marks should be deducted in this category for a flight that shows no such distinctions. Higher marks should be given for choreography with the music to enhance the flight, and the flight choreographed to enhance and present visual impressions where both the music and aircraft are flowing together with each other and acting as a unified entity to display a harmonious presentation.

| just another model junkie ![]() | I personally fly to the teachings of Darude, his most well known song is Sandstorm but i like alot of his other stuff better. The song titled music by him is my favourite. If you type darude into your limewire or watever you will find some nice beats.

| Flyin' Around ![]() | I love to fly to classical, modern and ancient, and various sporting themes, but one tune that has proved to really be in tune with 3D and artistic flying is by John Murphy and David Hughes from Zorba the Greek. It starts slow with a nice even but loping theme and little Greek snaps that work great in a hesitation rolling circle with snaps. It increases in tempo thoughout the first theme which adds spice for more vertical displays and medium tempo figures and sweeping precision shapes, and then the first theme ends with a crescendo and hold which goes very nicely with a descending torque roll to hover or any holding in place type figure (rolling harrier with an arresting head wind for example). After the hold, it takes off with lightening speed and is awesome with snapping reversals and rapid rolling maneuvers and just plain craziness. This tune is available on Zorba the Greek or Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels soundtracks. It works wonderfully on smaller, flittier airplanes due to the rapid tempo but anything can have a nice schedule worked around it's tempo. Its only about 3 minutes, or can be mixed with a refrain or choose something complementary or totally different to contrast the style. I tried flying to rock and roll which I still love to listen to, but it gets so repetitious that so does the flight. Roll, roll, roll, roll, roll, roll, roll some more...snore! For me, there is flying to music and then there is artistic aerobatics. Unfortunately, my aeriel choreography skills outweight my flying abilities, but I'm working on that every single nice day there is. Regards, Mark |

| Bring it on down! ![]() | Just managed 2nd place over this side!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I've used this sequecence for last couple of comps, and im gonna keep this one as a backup. Here we go. We start with a countdown from a space launch - this allows just enough time to get off into the air and ready for the next bit. Next, Somewhere over the Rainbow by Ray Charles fades in - this is a very easy slow song to work with; like a slow rolling circle, slow spins, stall turns etc etc. Then we have a radio tuner effect - sounds like your changing radio stations After that, Fly me to the moon by Frank Sinatra - this a faster song for more violent manouvers; like Snaps, avalanches, fast knife edge etc etc Then we have a radio tuner effect - Again! Which leads into Papa loves Mambo by Nat King Cole - this is a little bit slower but very lively, perfect for 3D like; Flat spins, prop hangs, rolling harriers etc and finally, to finish, Looney tunes 'Thats all Folks' - easy to put a nice little wave in there ![]() all mixed together to 4 minutes - so I dont have to worry about the clock. I think that the freestyle is not only showing your skills, but trying to make it enjoyable for people of all ages to watch. ![]() Hope this helps 0llie
