Default What is the oddest thing you have built/flown?

I'll start off. My mentor had this green thing hanging in his hanger, swore it would fly. He called it his round tuit. So I copied the thing and attempted to fly it. It actually flew. Called it my Flying Aerobatic Round Thing

Round tuits were kind of popular there for a while in the mid to late 80's.

I have a pizza box flyer from coolplanes.com that I used to carry in the back of the business jet I flew when I was in Vegas, and I gotta say, as far as pure simple fun, that one takes the cake. If it crashes...so what. My wife calls it the flying real estate sign.

This one was designed for a collegiate contest. It didn't fly particularly well. After lots of testing and a gyro it was flyable empty but still could not get off the ground with a payload.

The ones for this years contest are very odd looking but I can not post pictures of them yet. Maybe in a month or so.

My last project was fairly odd.
It was an adaptive wing built for an Ultra stick that could change from 108"-67" or anywhere in between via a winch system.

I took off for the first time with WAY too little aileron throw. I figured it wouldn't need a lot, but thats a lot of wing!

I took an air hogs aeroace and ripped the electronics out. Glued em into a little rubber band powered balsa plane you can get anywhere for $3. Darned thing flies great! Plenty of speed and great manueverability!

card board box cut up and hot glued together in the shape of a paper airplane with only rudder and aileron controls....

I put an airhogs air powered motor on the front.

"control" was using a 2 channel pistol grip radio for cars...didnt fly to great...lol

1928 Waco Tapperwing, she was old but flew real sweet. (full scale, at the time 1976, there were only 5 flying.) I loved it.
