Help! Giant 3D

I'm trying to save up for a new radio, even with the two jobs I am having trouble actually coming up with a net gain. Just before vacation I might be in a little money crunch. So what radios do most of you tend to favor. My current thoughts are something like a Spektrum Dx7 or the JR 9303. Currently I have an older JR X-378, it works but I'd just like to have some more options and not have to worry about radio lock out's. I mean don't get me wrong it's a good radio for gas planes, but, this is basically what I know. DX7 almost the same set up easy to use, no crystals will work up to 50% planes. (Thats the biggest I've seen). Then there is the JR 9303, more options and more complex, but here is where it changes position, with the new Spektrum upgrades for JR and Futaba but for an extra $250 I don't think I can afford that any time soon. But just give me some in put on what you guys use and what you have experience with.

I use a futaba 9c. I have never run into a problem and went CRAP I NEED A BETTER RADIO. Its so simple to program and nicely priced. Looks like you are leaning JR i have seen alot of 9303s around and the verdict seems to be great on them aswell.

Yeah, it's just I prefer JR radios. They seem a little easier to program. I don't know if I need to I will end up going with Futaba.

9303 is a great radio. I've compared it to a 9CAP and it is better, and easier to program (riot shield out to protect myself from futaba fliers)

However, wait out for a bit, see whats coming out on the 2.4gHz scene. Maybe see if you can get the 9303 without the module, and get the xtreme link or spektrum module for it.

either way, the 9303 is an amazing radio, just wait out to see what's coming in the near future

just curious Ian. What did you find that made the 9303 better than the 9c? To my knowledge they are very similar just different brand name. I Cant see it being easier than the 9c for programing.

Yeah well I don't think it's going to be an issue for waiting. I 9303 is $600 and that might take a while to get the money for.

O-yeah, way hard. I could make it easier on my self and just sweet talk my grandmother, but then again I need her to buy my car. Radio, or car.
I think I'll have to wait for the radio.

some poeple have to work to get all that stuff, not bum it off sweet ol' grandma lol.

Anyways, I use a futaba 9c super for my big stuff. I was stuck with my JR 6102, only using it for small planes. I got the 9c only because it was less money than the JR 9 channel. It seems like you don't need anything with more channels for the gassers. Both are easy to program, and almost have all the same features. I don't know about the spektrum stuff, I have only flown one plane that was 2.4gHz. I couldn't really tell the difference, I think there is some hype about it out there, but it is convenient though.

I am Futaba. But it is just because I was basically raised up with it. Seriously it is whatever your raised up on. To me Futaba and JR are great radios I just use Futaba. I have messed with JR radios and I find that Futaba is easier to setup. But then again it is what your raised on.
