canardman,
139 is actually a bad deal. if you need some search around before you pay 139 unless you want to support your local hobby shop

Thanks for the info. I will look around before I start buying them. If there is only a few dollars difference, I will get them from my LHS. I often buy stuff from him that I can find cheaper elsewhere. Unless there is a significant price difference, I don't mind paying a little more to support him.

IMHO I have to totally agree that at about a hundred and forty bucks ($139) for a servo is too OVERPRICED!! I have thought that for a long time for the 8611's & 5955's that they are overpriced too, but at $139 -Cmon!! Do they come with a free tube of KY?? If not your getting it dry Geesh I wonder how much money in materials are really in one of those. I'd bet under $50!! Now dont beat me up here I can hear some of ya already! I know, I know research and development right? Well facto the matter is if they wanta make cash they gotta do the research. And as I see it not alot of research went into these other than a stronger motor and or geartrain came along which allowed this servo to be made. The designers of these servos also wait for the new and improved to come out so that they can slap a better piece together. So at 140 bucks a pop, I say, bend over dude and take it like a man!
Whats even worse is, I'm considering about a dozen of em

These can be found from several places for $114.95, just search around, and hopefully your local shop can match or come close to the online shops.

I've heard that servos are about $15 from the mfg - the distributor bumps that to $60 or so & the end seller bumps that to the $120 range. "I heard it from a friend".... so there's no proof behind this!
