Default PCM Mini RX ok? or Not...

I guess through all of the looking around at PCM RX's on sale, I ordered the wrong one. It cam in, its an 8 Channel Futaba &^%$# 148 . Its too cold to go look in the garage, but it is PCM,it is a Futaba 148 something with side pins, and is pretty darn small. Will it be ok in a 30%? I assume in this case size doesnt matter(what a double pun, case and size.ha)?

Won't make any difference, all of the Futaba PCM rx's are full range. I'm assuming you wanted the 149? The only difference is the number of channels. If you want the 149, let me know, I might be interested in the 148 for one of my sport planes, I use the 149 for my big stuff, just for the extra channel availability.

Gremlin.

Snazzy new name Eh!!!!!!

If my memory serves me right your going to use a power expander. That rx will fit it no trouble at all. You will just have a spare cable to tie down someplace neat.

Make sure you put a tape or something good and sticky over the crystal so it cannot vibe out. That little trick costs more Large scale crashes that you can ever imagine.

I take clear packing tape and go over xtals. I have heard too many horror stories about that. As for the Power Expander, is that the same as dual batt setups? Pardon me, I come from Glow..

I'll take it off your hands, if you want. The power expander is one of these:

Let me know, I have a lot of crystals I could use with the High Band receiver.

NO, that is far to complicating for me to use in anything RC! You will have 33,873 connections when it is plumbed up..

I think I'll be using one of the power expanders in my 33% Extra. I looks like it'll make a nice clean setup.

Are you going to keep the 148 RX or are you going to get the 149?
