Sun and Fun, who's going????

Looks like I'm hitching a ride with a buddy next weekend to sunny Fla. Anyone else headed down to watch folks land who don't practice really short finals? Probably just a day trip for me, but I gotta take what I can get.

I went last year but I'm gonna sit it out this year. It is something everyone needs to see at least once.

I've been a couple of times. Both occasions were great fun. On the first visit, I snuck out and laid down in the tall grass at the approach end of of the busiest runway. It was near sunset and approaching twilight on one on the first, and very busy arrival days, of the event. Every type of aircraft you could imagine flew 50-100 feet over me on short final. P51s so close they shook my body and I could see the oils streaks on their bellies. Antique biplanes slipping gracefully down to the numbers. Private aircraft I had only ever seen in magazines. Big and small, fast and slow.

Best memory ever.

Stop by our booth near the food building and vendor building A. Right on the corner with a model 12 and the new Viper on display.

Which day are you going Biff?
I live in Valrico, FL so its only a short drive for me.
We usually go most years and I hear this year its cheaper and easier to get out to the flightline. If I see you I will make sure to say hello. You're the one with the big feet, right?

You have to get on the flightline. It's not worth going if you can't.

I get to Daytona Beach Wend. for an Embry-Riddle function, then into Lakeland mid day. Perform in the CAP with Mancuos on T,F,S.
We'll be sporting the new ERAU paint!
