Which would be a better first gasser? the new Hangar 9 Extra 260 35% or the QQ Yak 86" 50cc? I really like the looks of both, but one would cost way more than the other, but money isnt really an issue. Thanks for opinions and thoughts

If money is not an issue, you should compare two 100cc planes. If you're going to spend the money you might as well go with the 35%. Also give the aeroworks 35% a look.

I jumped into the 35%'ers and Im glad! You learn a LOT from working with the 35%er which would make the transition to a 40%er that much easier. They also fly better than the 30%er ![]() Woody

Don't forget the issue of vehicular limitations (if you have any) for hauling whichever one you choose! If anyone is hauling a 35%er in a Pathfinder - Please post a picture! |

I did my first gasser as a 50cc yak, learned alot, and didn't spend a large amount. I then went and bought a 4yr old 40% carden. there's no wrong way of getting into gassers, but if you want a 40%er shortly down the road, I would go from 30% to 40%. | ||||||||||||||||||

If you don't have all of the money yourself I would think that a good 50cc plane would be your best bet. There are many awesome flying 50cc planes currently on the market and if you ask which is the best one you will get 10 different answers. Something else that you can think of is a 33% plane. There are several out there right now that are great flyers and you get a little bit larger plane but can stick with a single cylinder (80-85cc engine) which saves you some money, making the 33% not too much more $$ than a 30%. good luck with your decision |
