Default Snap Roll Switch

Do you use a snap roll switch? I know the correct way is to use the sticks and fly the plane through the snap. I am just curious how many guys use the switch when just "shooting holes in the sky" with their giant scale planes.

not at all. its imprecise and you cant vary the snap direction quickly. opposing snaps on a 45 degree down line look great, but not possible to do with a switch, far less precisely

I hate snap switches... in fact, I was using another person's radio. I always have the trainer switch as a throttle kill, but on their radio it was a snap! Night flying @ the huckfest last year -I was just over the runway and decided to kill the engine and OOOPS.. SNAP -SPLAT!

Got that one beat, at a fly-in I came down the base leg preperatory to making a smoke pass with a 33% Staudacher and hit the snap switch instead of smoke . Amazing how short a time it takes for a plane to go from 25 feet high to minus 2 feet . Picked up the pieces and deprogramed the snap switch out of the radio .

For what it's worth, I have disabled that function on all the programs in that radio. I had programmed that switch on one model when I first got that radio and set it up to try it out. When I no longer used that program I just didn't clear it out. Live and learn. LOL
