| I'm only 'twee years old ![]() | fairly new to all this...SO- is there any info out there (like a diagram/schematic) that shows EXACTLY how to set up a proper fuel system settup in a 27% plane(or others in this range....using a da 50, and want to be able to:1.) fuel safely 2.) un - fuel safely 3.) vent properly 4.) transport the above without ...."BOOM!" Most of us "greenhorns" would like to get this right the first time, so.....any GOOD AND USEFULL SUGGESTIONS?? (P.S.: Already have a fire extinguisher. Need an actual settup in a current plane that is SAFE from end to end .....Thanks all. ![]() |

| Lawn Dart Pilot ![]() | I don't have a schematic, but here is how I do it, and I am sure others have different ways. 40% Carden Cap 232 w/DA 150. Single 50 ounce Du-Bro fuel tank (no smoke in this plane) with SWB fuel cap. Make sure you have a gas fuel rated stopper installed in your tank. I use 5/32" brass tubing for my tank (this is what comes with the larger tanks) and I solder on the brass barbs to help keep the fuel line on the tank fittings. I also use zip ties on the fuel line behind the barbs. I run tygon tubing from the clunk line in the tank to a "T"-fitting, then to the carb. I then run another line from the "T"-fitting to a DA fuel dot, mounted in the side of the fuse for fueling. The vent line I run over to the back of the tank, then loop it back to the front, and install it on a vent fitting mounted in the bottom of the fuse to the outside of the plane. Looping the vent line will lessen the amount of fuel that drains out through the vent line during inverted flight, and downlines. That's pretty much it. Mike Darr |

| It's official, thanks Verne... ![]() |
BTW: The fuel dot installs into the side of the plane and I believe comes with a fitting you install on your tube coming from your can.

| Bad-ass Super Contributer! ![]() | ONE OTHER THING I DONT THINK ANYONE HAS MENTIONED IS WHEN INSTALLING YOUR FUEL DOT MAKE SURE YOU MOUNT IT ABOVE THE LINE COMMING OFF THE TANK OR IT WILL DRAIN BACK OUT OF THE LINE WHEN YOU DISCONECT IT, OR YOULL HAVE FUEL SPILLING ON YOUR FINISH |

Yeah, good point Jay. I did that one before.... I had no choice on this last plane I built, so I made enough line so that when I took it out of the DA dot, I could pull it vertical and the instant I removed the plug, it ran back down...
