Default Hanger9 QC???

Hey guys is it just me or is the quality control at Hanger 9 having some trouble finding bad parts? I have just recieved another H9 27% Cap 232G due to a crash a few weeks ago. Tha one had a broken elevator half in it no big deal got another set for free from horizon. This new one i opend the box and inspected to find that both wing panels had several ribs that were crushed as well as the canopy was severely cracked. I went back to the hobby shop and had them order another set of wings. Again they had some ribs that were damaged. Now i am almost done and getting ready to setup the the radio and found the elevators on this one are SEVERLY WARPED hold the counter balance neutral and the the inboard tips are .25" off from eachother. UNLESS there QC really improves i think this will be that LAST hanger9 airplane i build!!!!!

I would be worried after seeing the quality of these last two airplane with the new 35% 260 thats coming out with the pre hinged surfaces and what not.

Is this one of the old caps that they don't make anymore? Maybe its shelf-life damage?

Sounds like you have a beef with the wrong company.. i think I'd look at the shipper first on the cracks.

The miss match parts doesn't fly ( no pun intended) with me either.. Sounds like they may have changed vendors or you just had a run of bad luck..

I work at the hobby shop.... it is NOT the shipper....

The boxes have arrived Well packaged with NO damage on them....
With the wings, they appeared in perfect shape from the outside, but if you look inside the wing... there were broken ribs...
Honestly it looked like they were just built in that way

Flyguy...sorry about the elevators,,, when will it end!!

Give me a call at work and we can order....yet another...replacement

I had the same problem sent back 3 giant u can do's and ended up with a hanger 9 27% Extra. Have found nothing but positives from hanger 9 I have two recently and the ultra coat shrinks nice, but have to say I hope I don't have the same problems with the guts of my bird. Have seen any signs yet. Knock on carbo for luck?

My Neighbor just put together a Hanger 9 Ultra Stick and had the same problem with broken wing ribs. I just put a Twist 40 PNP together and had a bad throttle servo. Horizon Hobby quickly took care of both of these issues! In fact I called Horizon Hobby on New Years Eve and had a new servo on Jan 2. My beef with Hanger 9 now is that the Sundowner 50 was back ordered to Jan 7. Then to Jan 10. Today at the LHS when I paid for the engine to put on it, I was told the ship date was now Feb 10. Sure hope I have this plane before the end of the summer

Guys, all sorts of things happen to these planes when they cross the ocean. They come in containers that get hot during the day, cold during the night, humidities vary, etc... These things can cause the warping of several parts. For elevators, simply find a flat surface to lay the surface on, then heat up the covering again. This should do it.

On one of the rare occasions here I agree with Vic. Shipping these planes across the ocean is hard on the wood causing unbelievable stresses. Plus the multi state drive from the dock.
But sorry to hear about your bad luck. Knowing HH they will get things sorted out most of the time....
