El Paso, TX - Killeen, TX

Hello there fellow pilots question , I will be moving to El Paso TX , or Killeen T.X panding on my Millitary orders wich I will get this Friday, Im wondering if there are flying clubs and planty of hubby shops out here and what is the Heli of choice in those areas?

Killeen has a field near Ft Hood. Was flying as a guest there some years back and you could hear cannon in the far off distance.

There is a flying field in Killeen, it is ok. After about 11am you are looking right in the sun the rest of the day. Another close field is in Temple TX (where I used to be) and it is about 20 miles from Killeen. There are a couple hobby shops in Killeen and Temple, but nothing really good. There is a good one down in Georgetown, about 30 minutes from Killeen. Ft. Hood and Ft. Bliss are both kind of crummy, but if I had to choose I would go to Ft. Hood as at least you are close to Austin.

Speaking for El Paso, two clubs in the area (one just north of Ft Bliss with military and retired guys) and a couple of hobby shops. Let us know where they send you!
