I am flying a DA 50 (broken In) on a Air Wild Edge 540. The motor was great on my last plane but is lacking power and has a really bad burbling problem now. The only changes made on the new plane is I went from a canister to a pitts style muffler. Ignition battery is a FromeCo 2400 7.4 V to regulator, installed a new spark plug, and even traded out the ignition module... Any suggestions???

Have you tried leaning it ? the burble is a sign of it running rich. Different plane, different cowl, different airflow, different exhaust, different backpressure, etc etc...

yes, sounds rich on low end.turn it in just alittle bit at a time till you only hear a very little burrble at about 1/4 throttle, then double check your top end as they do effect each other no matter what you have been told.myself i like to hear just a little slop at 1/4 throttle to help cool the engine when just crusein

Best way to adjust a DA50: Turn the high needle two turns out and leave it there forever. Tune low needle for best transition, usually 1 1/8 to 1 1/2. The high end RPM will raise and lower as you lean and richen the low end. Whatever you decide as your low needle setting, your high end will tag along and run accordingly. There is no way of independantly tuning a high needle on a DA50 from my experience. It should remain wide open.
