07 ALBUQUERQUE IMAC CHALLENGE RESULTS

What a fun weekend! Twenty two pilots and an awesome showing by sponsors.

Saturday morning started with a pilots meeting and free breakfast burritos provided by Outwest Hobbies. We flew two complete known rounds before lunch (also free to pilots provided by Outwest). Pilots did a fairly good job of keeping the planes on the ready line and not causing delays. Folks were cooperative about volunteering to judge and scribe. The wind kicked up and we called it a day around 2:30.

Sunday started off with a slight breeze, but not a cloud in the sky. The unknowns went off without a hitch followed by a third known round. Best thing to report… not one crash or frequency problem!

The awards were handed out and the results are attached. Excellent job by all…especially the Contest Director David Pattison.

At the top of the list was Outwest Hobbies. Joe Sandoval and Florence Seis (owners) donated thousands of dollars in prizes and extras to the pilots and helpers. Most notable prizes dontated by Outwest Hobbies were a 1/3 scale Hangar 9 Cap 232 Limited Edition ARF (won by Len Alessi), a 27% hangar 9 Cap 232 ARF (won by Michael Hatfield) and a Spektrum 9 channel module and 9000 receiver for a JR radio (won by John Pompa).
