Flying got started today at 08:00am sharp. Clear skies and light winds helped some with their Unknowns while others struggled with the difficult sequences. This was a big day of anticipation as many were carrying less than desireable Unknown scores up to now. After this mornings Unknown sequence, one would be dropped from the three that have been flown. Unfortunately, everyone will have to wait just a little longer to see where they are in the rankings as no scores at all were posted today. Everyone had their game faces on as they were trying to advance up or hold onto their spots they had coming into today. Lots of great flying to watch. The flying ended around 3:30pm but that didnt stop several people from practicing some more during open flying. The IMAC Banquest is tonight at 7:00pm and todays results, overall standings and who made the cuts will be announced there. Look here later this evening for scores and rankings.

Am curious about how people are scoring over 1000 in the unknowns. I thought they were normalized just like everything else. Does anyone know what the scoop is? Ed |

Ed, Unknows are weighted at 25% of the total score. The more rounds flown, the higher the Unknown will be worth. Example: Unlimited day one. Unknown and one known round.(two sequences) The unknown was worth 666.7 that day for them (25%)

The cool thing is that its anyones game tomorrow. The person who was in first after today goes into the finals with a 1000 normalized score. Everyone else is normalized to that starting tomorrow. What that means is that every class has basically right around 100 points seperating top to bottom within the finalists. The Unknown tomorrow will be kept as will the best Known sequence for each pilot. This will be interesting!

Well guys, They just finished the freestyle and are tabulating scores. I'm not sure if someone is on site with a laptop or not to get them to us immediately, but I should know soon at least about Sportsman.
