Default Pattern Nats and USA Team Selection!!!

Written by Chuck Hochhalter.

Well gents, we are off like a Turd of Hurtles...the rain is coming and going.
Mark and I are debating whether or not to drive all the way through or drop off and get a couple of flights this evening somewhere.

We have got the Twins with us. (160DZ Pentahlon and E-Pentathlon) 3 gallons of MAG3 fuel and a couple of batteries, chargers out the yingyang.. mark says I pack like a woman...so I guess that makes me his B**** for the week!

Anyways, fueled the car, loaded the ice chest with water and got the flying giants on wireless interenet, food and the anticipation of seeing friends from all over.

If someone from flying giants wants to help with a spontaneous live web broadcast, contact me and we will see what we can accomplish.

Will keep everyone posted.. should be a fantastic event this year, not only in FAI but I am looking forward to MASTERS as well, some serious talent looking for better weather and luck to make their mark this year. Last year was an awesome display of flying for those who missed out, conditions were deplorable with gusts at 30 plus, and driving rain..without taking a shot at FAI... I believe they waited while Masters trudged on. Luck did in many top competitors through pipes falling out, radio failure, bad timing for conditions so this year could prove to be another nail biter.

Advanced class is looking strong as well, as some top Intermediate pilots have moved up and are all doing well in their districts while some advanced pilots are returning with another year of practice and experience under their belt.

Intermediate again has changed as last years sportsman pilots are looking to make their first NATS trip and others returning with more confidence and ready to make a go of it.

Good luck to all and more to come as we converge like ants to sugar.

Here are a few more pics of planes you might see at the Pattern Nats.

Keep in mind, this year is also when they will be selecting the team that will represent the USA at the F3A World Championship!!!

This was written by Chuck Hochhalter. I certainly wish I was there...finances haven't allowed me to hit enough contests or attend the Nats.

Next year!!!!

You got to love those pattern plane names, no reasoning just throw a few words or letters together and waalaa. Good thing this is a "G" rated site. Good luck to all.

I'm sure AC won't mind me posting under his name since he left it logged on...lol.

You won't be seeing Chip's Pass-port cause of a modified issue that makes it unflyable at this time , but he's got his 2 Scandalous bipes. Sean has an Aries and his Astral XX Plus from last year. I've got my Integrals, QQ has his Euphoria's and Andrew has new Integrals. Not sure what everyone else is flying.

Just checked the weather and the forcast is for rain for the next 3 days... just my luck.

OK, time to sign off of AC's name. Night.

I have 3 planes here flying, but one is being used by Ryan (my Impact from last year). My other Integrals are home, mostly half built or ready to be half built.

JAS... oops, ok off to bed
