| I’ve been lurking among the FG forums for month or so, I guess it’s time to join in on the fun! My modeling goes back to the late 50’s with a 15 year break for school and girls. When I returned, back around 1996, I made the choice to fly electric and never looked back. I build and repair for the local clubs to support the addiction. Around the beginning of this year I was approached by a few local flyers to CNC cut some Depron foamies. Today I have cut over 150 kits and now own and operate DWFoamies. We produce 5 unique kits, all CNC cut, easy to build and are simply the best flying foamies on the market. Happy flying, Mike www.DWFoamies.com |

Hey Mike, so you finally decided to stop lurking and post something. I'm glad. Seriously guys, Mike is one of the most talented builders and model fixers there is (ask me how I know). Without Mikes permission (I have no business relationship with Mike, he is a very modest guy and I don't think he will tell you how good these foamies really are), I want to post a plug for his new line of foamies. They are truely special. Mike worked closely with a lot of flyers including some very well known people when developing these. Hundreds of changes were made during this process. I flew many of the development models and the final version is as close to perfection as you will find. I have flown a number of the foamies on the market and I have to say these are the best I have tried. If you are a foamie fan you need to try one of these. They are all great, but in my opinion there is something special about the YAK. It is simply magic! Others I know seem to like the Extra better. I guess that is why Baskin and Robbins have 31 flavors. We took a few up to the Camarillo IMAC last weekend. So many people wanted to fly them that I had a hard time getting any stick time myself, even though my battery charger was going full time. I know a lot of guys fell in love with them and ordered one after the event. Mike makes them all personally, so I'm sure once the word gets out he will have trouble keeping up with demand. Congratulations Mike on finally going public with these. I'm sure you will set a new standard for this class of foamies. -STEVE- |

Steve, I'm going to do my best to keep up with you guys. Thanks for the kind words! Plus, I want to thank those of you who were flying our DWFoamies YAK at Camarillo IMAC. The following couple days after the event, I had almost a dozen orders come in. My biggest problem now are the shipping boxes, they're ordered but they won't be here for another 4 weeks. Making boxs form scrap cadboard to ship the kits is not going to be fun. MAX, I remember meeting you at the EMAC a few months back. You were taking pictures of my Double-X biplane with the cool hinge system. I'll be down at the Chula Vista IMAC with a box of foamies, plus Pedro will be flying our BAF YAK. The Big A$$ Foamie is our 54" Depron foamie flaggship and we'll have a fleet of DWFoamie YAK's hovering around her. -Mike |
