Default Best prop for showtime 4d with an OS 108 fsr in it

ive tried an APC 15/6,16/4w,17/4w,with not so good vertical results.
it wont pull out of a hover.
this same engine just came out of a lanier 1/4 scale laser with an apc 15/8 prop.
the laser would pull vertical just fine for a plane at least 2 lbs more than the showtime.
are there any other prop out there that will fix this problem.
motor has plenty to go vert for sure.forgot to mention that i run cool power 10%.

any help would be great.

You just have to try some different props to see which one you like best for the tryp of flying you do.

oh yeah, dont get me wrong, this plane rocks!it can sport fly, pattern and 3d.like you said what more can you ask for.
im just confused at why the same engine with a larger 3d prop on it wont pull a plane thats almost 3 lbs lighter than the one it was in(1/4 scale laser)and a 15/8 apc would pullit to the sky from a stall or a wall.

gonna try a 15-8 apc on it next, after that its gonna be a few bucks in props i suppose till its 3d friendly.

if i had the cash i would put a saito or ys in it and be done.but i know this 108 has more power than an evo 100 and ive seen showtimes pull out of hover no prob with the evo.

thanks for the help.

Well, you certianly have a mystery. Tell you what I have in my Showtime. I'm running a OS 120 Surpass II.
I started with a 15-8 zinger and verticle was so so. Just recently I put on a APC 16-4w and it's much better performance all around.

Your engine might be running too hot. The Showtime cowl allows a lot of air to enter, but getting a good 4 to1 ratio for the exit air is difficult. When I switched props I basically removed the entire bottom protion of the cowl at the same time for better cooling.

thanks billy,

i did notice the engine was on the warm side, but i dont have a temp gauge.
without that even 180degrees seems hot.this engine evidently dont like fun fly props.
i tried 2 of them so far.(16-4w and 17-4w).after the 15-8 im going to try the new apc 16-5.5 w that just came out.
we will see.

thnx

I'm not sure but I think you don't need speed you need torque. It'll help a little more with manuevers, torque rolling loops, rolling harriers.
The extra torque will help you not lose as much pull power in manuevers which helps with throttle control.
