| People make mistakes!! ![]() |
I have noticed in the years past that our club as a whole has declined and become nearly void due to noone has the dedication to go out and really push to make us better!! I have watch people make comments and down play the club and not even really offer to help new intrest in the club!! I myself have become somewhat sick of seeing it!! Do any of you guys out there think that the club is worth fighting for or do you think that it should be put to rest!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I have seen it before. You need to infuse more young people and get more new retired people with enthusiasm. Often times retired folk are the only people with time to organize.

All clubs are worth fighting for. You may have to start recruiting new members. Don't you give up because some of your members have. Good Luck

To answer what office I hold! I do not hold any part of office in this club! But the main people that hold this office are scale pilots!! I absolutely have no problem with that but when you bring new blood into the hobby and the guys that are there don't even want to help train them that is a quick way to run them off! I agree the retired people are the ones with alot more time to organize, but I will be taking on a new job and my schedule will only be 3 days a week!! Any suggestions for someone like me!! ![]() ![]()

Become a trainer in the club. become an officer in the club Have you discussed this issues at any of the club meetings or with any of the club officers?

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. our club is the same way we have over 100 members and about 30 fly and most only fly trainers or four star 40's. the club has NO ambition to do anything including in participation in club events. I was tired of this too so first a became a trainer, I was VP and am now president. all I can say is get a group of people together to start trying to make a difference. you can't do it by yourself. It's a alot of work but if you like where you fly, you have to fight to keep it alive. there is no such thing as a one man army. Start with new members and help them as much as you can. just my 2 cents.

Get involved and try to make a difference. If you don't have the club's blessing, or rub each other the wrong way it will all be in vain and you might just pay your dues and keep flying. If the club just needs a shot in the arm, you make the difference. Our Jumbo 4 years ago had 18 registered pilots. I decided to take it over, spend mucho time making it a great event, and we have had a combined 270 registered pilots over the last 3 years. The difference could be you!
